Terms of Use

By using SteamFPS you agree to the terms below. They're short and they describe how this site actually works.

Last updated: June 2026

Verdicts are estimates, not guarantees

Most SteamFPS verdicts and FPS figures are derived or estimated — inferred from a game's SteamOS / Steam Deck compatibility category and reasoned against the Steam Machine's known silicon — and are not measured unless a figure is explicitly labeled Measured. Only a minority of our titles carry a real, community-measured Steam Deck FPS. Actual performance varies with drivers, Proton versions, settings, the specific scene, and future patches. We provide this information “as is”, without warranty, and you rely on it at your own discretion; it is guidance, not a guarantee of how a game will run on your hardware. See our methodology and confidence tiers for exactly how each figure is derived.

Affiliate disclosure

Some outbound store and cloud-gaming links are affiliate links — if you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships never change a verdict: a game that runs badly is rated red regardless of whether we can earn on it. We are not paid by publishers to rate games favorably.

Public API terms

Our public JSON API is offered for non-commercial use with attribution. If you use our data, credit “SteamFPS (steamfps.com)” with a link back, and don't resell or redistribute it as a competing dataset. Please be reasonable with request volume so the service stays up for everyone; we may rate-limit or revoke access for abusive use. Full endpoint terms are documented on the API page.

Acceptable use & user content

If you post comments or submit benchmarks, keep them accurate and lawful — no spam, harassment, or deliberately false performance data. We may hide or remove content that breaks these terms. You keep ownership of what you submit, but grant us a licence to display and aggregate it (for example, promoting corroborated FPS reports into a verdict). Don't attempt to break, overload, or scrape the site outside the public API.

Trademarks & independence

SteamFPS is independent and not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation. Steam, Steam Machine, Steam Deck, Steam Frame and SteamOS are trademarks of Valve. Game names, art and other marks belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only. We use Steam's OpenID and public APIs in line with Valve's terms.

Changes & contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top reflects the latest version, and continued use means you accept the current terms. Questions? Reach us via our about page. See also our privacy policy.
