About SteamFPS
SteamFPS answers one question Valve's binary “Verified” badge won't: how well does a game actually run on the Steam Machine, Steam Frame and Steam Deck — at Low, Medium and High, with real FPS where we have it.
Who writes these verdicts
Verdicts are produced by the SteamFPS Editorial Team— a small group of long-time PC and handheld players who've spent years with Proton, SteamOS and the Deck. We pair launch-review benchmarks with the Steam Machine's known silicon (a 6-core Zen 4 CPU and an RX 7600-class RDNA 3 GPU with 8 GB of VRAM) to reason about real-world performance, and we label every figure by how we know it.
We don't re-rank what ProtonDB and SteamDeckHQ already own on the Deck — there, we lean on their community data as a baseline and a comparison point. Our original work is the Steam Machine traffic-light and the cross-device “which Valve device should you play this on” call.
How confident is each verdict?
Every verdict carries a confidence tier. Nothing estimated is ever presented as measured fact.
Real frame-rate numbers from on-device testing or a verified review benchmark. Highest confidence.
Projected from launch-review benchmarks on equivalent RX 7600 / RTX 4060-class hardware, adjusted for 8 GB VRAM.
Inferred from a title's official SteamOS / Steam Deck compatibility rating, scaled to the Machine's ~6× Deck GPU power.
Aggregated from real player reports — deck-verified.games and our own crowdsource submissions.
